Compound Interest With Daily Habits

Many people are aware that compound interest works with finances but I believe that compound interest may actually be a phenomenon that applies to many areas of life. For example, you can learn an entire language by learning just one new word per day. You can save a million dollars by saving and investing a very small amount of money over time. Also you can lose weight or get into shape by doing light exercise for 20 minutes a day and eating healthier.

Now imagine how hard it is to make a million dollars in a single day. To lose all the weight you want to get rid of in one day. Or to learn an entire language in one day. All of those things are profoundly hard to do in a short period of time, and yet they are profoundly easy to do over a long period of time.

The point is that success in life may have less to do with taking large actions for a short period of time, and more to do with taking a small action over a sustained period of time.

My thoughts on ways to take advantage of compound interest in life:
> Try to get rich slowly
> Aim to eat healthy and exercise
> Learn a little bit every day

The contrary is:
> Try to get rich quick
> Go on a diet
> Cram

What do those three things have in common? They all have a high failure rate.
